1. Select an existing Non-profit:  Every merchant that signs up for Payline Data services, subject to exclusions outlined herein, will have 30 days to choose a non-profit from Payline Data’s Non Profit List, located at http://www.paylinedata.com/support/non-profits.  This 30 day period will start the day the merchant account approval email is sent to the merchant by Payline Data.
2. Nominate a New Non-Profit:  A merchant can submit a request to donate to a new Non-profit by submitting the Charity Selection.   Donations will go to the Payline Giving Program until such time that the submitted Non-profit is approved for the Payline Giving Program.  Payline will make every good faith effort to reach out to the nominated organization and encourage them to join Payline Giving.  Once they are in the system, Donations will be diverted to the selected Non-profit starting the next calendar month.  Previous Donations would have already been assessed within the program.  Merchants may also encourage the organization to register through the online program at http://www.paylinedata.com/support/non-profits.
3. Non-Profit referral:  Merchants that are referred to Payline Data by our Non-profit partners may not be given a choice for their own Non-profit to donate to.  We do this out of respect for our commitment to the Non-profits we work with and their partnership with Payline Data.  All referrals are subject to Article II of our Terms and Conditions.

• If a merchant does not choose a Non-profit within the 30 day window, Payline Data reserves the exclusive right to allocate the funds to support the Payline Giving Program.
• Payline Giving Program – In the scenario when a new Non-profit is nominated but not yet approved, or no Non-profit is chosen, funds will be allocated to support the Payline Giving Program.  These funds are used for donations to Non Profits, Contributions to their Causes and Events at Payline Data’s discretion or may be used to offset costs incurred to improve and/or manage the Payline Giving program.

What does “10% to a nonprofit for every account” actual mean?  How is it calculated? 

• Payline Data calculates Donations from our gross margins from the merchant processing costs and gateway fees only.   Donations are not made for the portion of the credit card processing fees known as “Interchange” or “Assessment Fees”.   Details of these definitions can be found at https://www.paylinedata.com/learn/ccprocessingfacts/rates-and-fees-simplified
• Payline Data makes every effort in good faith to ensure all of our systems include “checks and balances” in order to operate in a very accurate and efficient manner.  In the event that a miss-calculation or Non-profit selection error occurs, Payline Data will resolve the issues directly with the affected parties.  However, Payline Data does reserve the exclusive right to distribute the Donations and any discrepancies, miss-calculations or other errors will not result in a recall, redistribution or “retro” back payments of donations previously made or not made without written notification to all parties affected.

Are there any exclusions from the donations? 

• Payline Data does not donate for the costs associated with products or services outside of our gross margins from processing markup and gateway fees.  Excluded items include terminals, mobile devices, other equipment, setup fees or other service fees.  Why not?  We price our accounts very aggressively as part of our Best Price Promise to our customers.   As such, we regularly pass these items through at little or no markup.   So the bottom line is it just doesn’t make financial sense to try to calculate donations on such small costs.
• Payline Data services accounts for resellers and other subsidiaries.  Payline Data reserves the exclusive right to exclude merchants from participation in the Payline Giving Program should their account be associated with a reseller, sub-ISO/ agent or other subsidiary whose agreement with Payline Data deems such exclusion necessary.   Merchants may submit a written request to Payline Data to determine if such exclusion exists for their account.

I want to change my Non-profit selection.  How do I do that? 

• Any changes to Donation allocations must be requested in writing to Payline Data at our corporate headquarters.

Can my business claim the donations made by Payline for tax purposes? 

• Donations are made to our Non-profit partners by Payline Data.   As such, merchants that choose or are allocated to participate in the Payline Giving Program release all rights and claims, both legal and financial to the donated funds.
